Hey Guys ,
I am EB2 - July 3rd 9:03 AM - R WIllialms - Nothing received yet ..
I called up yesterday and the lady on the phone tells me that we need to wait 90 BUSINESS days before we can raise a service ticket etc - Which is like 4 months nearly - November 2nd.
Anyone else got a similar response ?
To my knowledge its not business days, its 90 calendar days.

Guys,
as long as there is a leeway, people do tend to take the maximum advantage of that leeway. this applies in life in every aspect. OP did the same.
being moral or ethical is not the criterion here I guess, otherwise we would all have (I,C) have been current ( if no labor subs, eb3 to eb2 conversions etc).
I feel bad too, seeing some one who landed on H1B in 2006 , got hold of a 2002 labor sub. and is enjoying GC right now(thanks to July 2007 fiasco)., and for crying out loud I have been in USA since 2001, went to school here, is working in a physical science research position, have one patent and filed for 2 more.
I consider myself to have contributed to the USA, more than the guy I gave an example of (in terms of taxes, tuition, original research, etc). But does that all matter to the other guy, when he did what he did.

No worries sathweb.. We all are in the same situation and at times things happen. Our mission is one: GC or no GC, we also deserve peace of mind. GC is just a means, not the final destination. :)

I will bump that one up ...I am surprised that we cant get a 1000 people to contribute some money..An avg of $50 will get us beyond $50,000 (Obviously we dont need even 1000 people because many will contribute 100 or more) ..There just too many leaches who wait for others to do thier job..

My PD is Aug 2006 and I might have a remote chance of getting approved this month. Can someone give me the customer service number to talk about the 485 status. I keep seeing that many people talk to the customer service and get updates on the case. My case is pending at TSC. Thanks a lot.

When I joined Company X (prior employer) I paid for H1b transfer fee and h1b renewal fee(total $3200 + $3000).
They agreed to sponsor my green card(just to give required paperwork) and they asked me to pay GC cost, So far I have paid $1500 for labor +$1700 advertisement + $1700 for I-140 + $3750 just now to file I-485 for me and for my spouse as dates were current to my lawyer . I have labor and I-140 approved from Company X.
I was compromising my personal life by staying away from my family and company X didn't find any client near to my home. I decided to stay at home hoping Company X will find some client near to my home. I was on a bench(no salary for a month).When I asked for a "employment letter "to file I-485 Comapny X said they can't give because they are
not paying me , I said I will resign and then you give me "future employement letter". I resiged Company X( i found company Y near to my home), in 10 days they cancelled my H1b visa without informing me, gladly I found Company Y and H1b transfer took place before they could cancel my H1b. Company X is reluctant even today to give future emplyement
letter.They are ready to do corp-to-corp, for that I have to pay them H1b tranfer cost of $3200(as my prior h1b got cancelled by company X) . I don't beleive its worth going back to them , but at the same time never wanted to lose $8650 green card cost. It is true that country quota is a discrimination. But when you just try to remove the country quota other country persons are going to oppose as they will be impacted if country quota is removed. But if you try with other agenda like recapture then opposition may not be strong and also every one will get benefit.

US employment based immigration system is merit based, not need based. The EB system is to keep US industry more competitive. if you were a hiring manager, you would give a Pakistani more preference than an Indian, just because Pakistan has less infrastructure than India?

INA specifically has the language for counting all immigrants (including spouses and children) towards numerical limits, and, we have been working to include provisions to eliminate counting depents towards numerical limits. Doing such extra effort as mentioned in the first post of the thread is not going to be helpful. When there is a bill we should be pushing towards not counting dependents and it is more straightforward. That will take care of the backlog issues to some extent. Admin fixes do not change laws, so admin fix for this is not possible as some suggested

No one can claim to be 'superior' by virtue of their EB classification and take refuge under the current system by preaching that "it is what it is, you accepted it, so play by it!". What a sudden love fest for a system that you cared to fix not too long ago? So, what changed? The sudden realization that there are a few erudite and vocal EB3 I's that can speak their mind and ask the difficult questions?!
Willwin is a rare gem that could see the point in my earlier thread ... Others, my post is not 'ugly', it is the reflection that you see when I hold a mirror up to you. Dont like it? Dont blame me.
Others are scared sh*it that the real deal will be revealed. Just goes to prove that if the current system goes to serve YOUR narrow self interest, you will go to no end to justify it AND defend it... even at the cost of creating deep divides amongst a larger group. Suddenly, your sense of outrage has been channeled against EB3 I's seeking a voice and not against the 'system' that you claimed to care fixing. Nice. A chameleon would be proud to welcome you to the family.
Dont worry. Sleep easy, no one is going to call Ron or a shrink. I have exposed the duplicity that defines your being ... and you can rest easy knowing that your sense of 'logical reasoning and moral outrage' cannot stand scrutiny on a simple b-board, let alone a court of law ...

I sent my 485 to NSC on JUL 3rd, my 140 approved NSC, no receipts from
TSC yet. Does any body got receipts who applied on JUL 3rd...?
If your 140 Approved from NSC then you should get receipts from NSC. Not from TSC.

I am little pessimistic about landing as it might be a risk as you are already on AP. I read some people went on AP and come back no question asked. If you would've valid H1B visa, it might be easier. I had valid H1B approval and I use AVR to enter. If I had used AP to go back home, I would've abandoned the canadian PR. Its your choice.
