I received the receipt number today from my attorney
My application was received in Nebraska on 19th June, filed concurrently, with I 140 pending in Texas since 5/16
My I 140 was approved on 27th July.
My receipt numbers are as below, so it was moved from Nebraska to Texas
I-485- SRC-07-230-xxxx
I-765- SRC-07-230-xxxx
I-131- SRC-07-230-xxxx

As i mentioned in the thread Gandhigiri in one of my first posts to support the flower campaign idea.. Rosa parks was the inspiration for MLK in this country for the civil disobedience This is very similar to how Gandhiji got the idea of Satyagraha from - guess who? Kasturba Gandhi.
We need to carry on more things like this in a non-violent way at grassroots level to increase the visibility. Imagine what Gandhiji did in the 1940's with the entire media controlled by the Brits and with no other medium of communication available. We are in a far better situation right now we have access to media, can create our own blogs and we should use it to make our presence felt and highlight the injustice done to us.

Applications were sent to NSC on July 19th' 2007. I got my receipt numbers today and all three numbers (I485, EAD & AP) start with WAC ### ### ####. The online status for the applications say that the 485 application was transfered to Texas Service Center and the EAD & AP applications were sent to Califorina Service Center.
Also just fyi, my I-140 app. is pending at NSC since Dec' 2006. So now I am all over the country :-) Don't know its good or bad. Any idea anyone?

I am seeing lot of guys filed in july2nd, not many in in july3rd to july16 filer.
Even some of them filed in july2nd are not received receipt yet, did you guys see any one got the receipt july3rd to july16th.

I filed on july 7th and still waiting.
My case little different, my 485 pending at Nebraska and I mailed EAD renewal at Texas (because I live in PA, per instructions in form).
Do you think my EAD will get stuck because of this? I hope I did right thing.

I am bringing these out not because I am opposed to equal treatment of folks on H1/ EAD etc - but because there are legitimate arguments both ways and unless we can prove unequivocally that there is gross miscarriage of justice in denying us this right and on the other hand - there is no disadvantage caused to anybody else by granting us this right - this idea is unlikely to see the light of the day
while i am happy to be proven wrong - i do not see anyone in this forum having a stomach for a protracted legal battle starting with lower courts and going all the way to Supreme Court - going back to my previous point - we do not see this as a "larger than me" cause
Incorrect words used by me, I did not mean that supreme court gave authority, but that supreme court did not find that discrimination based on country of origin for immigrants violates the basic tenents of this countries constitution.
I am not saying that this is a case on employers. If at all it would be a case against the discriminatory laws of the congress which allow someone to stay indefinitely but, do not allow them to work.
If a case like this is filed, I do not think, I do not see it going to be a proteacted battle. If enough coverage is given, the lawmakers might sit down and fix the problem or atleast have a quick temporary fix. Maybe even lawmakers might not be needed, just the DOJ would might update the rules (which it is allowed in case it determines that the laws are conflicting). Most important of all, this will bring the issues on the front from being a laggard.

They have to give strong argument in favour of their claims.
Somebody can't just say we don't like the color of their skins so we do not want them here.
Let them present their views to the lawmakers and lets do our part.

It means they have used 90K Visa out of 140-150K ..it means 50K visa left for next 5 month..not sure how much visa dates wlll be moved.

We paid money and asking for proper transparent service. There are so many inconsistencies about the way USCIS/DOS operate and utter lack of transparency in case handling. Added to this the process is complicated forcing us to spend $$ with lawyers. If I am paying money I need to know how USCIS is going to give me the service. And once known, USCIS should make it transparent so I know that they are sticking with it. THere was an excellent compilation that I saw few days back about the inefficiencies in USCIS.
We cannot accept that they have 1million application and so they are faltering. If they cannot handle that many why take $$ from us. They could had streamlined resources/applications, etc.. but why is it my problem. I have been lawful and following all the rules. Now when will it ever be USCIS/DOS turn? Investing 10 + years in US and going back is not acceptable...

What address did you use to send the I-485 using FedEx or UPS?
I sent it to the PO Box address:
USCIS Nebraska Service Center
P.O. Box 87485
Lincoln, NE 68501-7485
I did not know that FedEx/UPS could deliver to PO boxes and that you would have a person receiving and signing for it???
