You should be proud of what you are doing. Even if you dont do a great job, You should try your best and you should still believe that you are doing it to the best of your ability and no one can do it better. But the way you talk, you seem to be a big loser and one of those, who feel lucky to have got your H1B. Probably, USA wont lose anything when one some like you leave. I had been in US for 6 years and has a PD of October 2006, that means i have to wait a long time to get my GC. but i got my back up plans prepared. It tends to irriate me but the only way to solve is to get involved in some kind of activity. I would suggest get involved in IV. Atleast you will feel much better that you are helping a community that lead you to get your GC soon.

Well numbersusa are against any immigration and they will always use illegal immigration as the vehicle to couch and attack any form of immigration. Their ranks consist of both democrats and GOP. Generally those who are threatened by any sort of immigration. Union workers in MI would be group in sync with numbersusa. So also would be buidling workers where there is strong competition from Hispanic workers walking accross the border.
I personally think businesses have been promised action on issues after the election. If not by now businesses would have entered the fray. H1B and skill bill and also the agjobs will be definitely passed due to pressure from big businesses. Economy is strong and they are not able to fill positions.

We are making great progress on this and glad to see tonnes of positive responses. Cancelled 4 tickets and lost 1000 bucks. Was to fly on 6th. Never expected dates will move. MY PD Nov 2001 EB3 India.
Hoping to get receipts by 20th. Is that a fair assumption? Planning to re-book for 22nd.
Don't want to lose another dime on cancellations and re-bookings.
Advice and share your thoughts.

For variety of reasons, I wish to explore option of consulting instead of permanent corporate job. Can I do consulting in my own name directly or do I need to be associated with some company?

Gurus,
I have a unique position. couple of weeks back I was told that have fatal cancer and won't live pass 4-6 months. After recovering from initial shock I am wondering if my wife will be able to continue her american dream or she will have to head home after me.

Guys, when you write to senators/WH/ other officials, Its important to include the reasons for this huge backlog. 1) Wasted visa numbers due to CIS inefficiencies for past decade.
2) Country quota... I believe the visa waste is more of a problem on their side. Also when you highlight a problem, do not just end with problem, quantify with quoting the visa bulletin's memos and other statistics from ombudsman's report.
Important, include a suggested approach to resolution as well.. which is "Recapture the wasted visa numbers and elimination / fixing the dispropotionate of country quota". This will atleast set the precendence to thought process on the fix.
abrupt and emotional emails would not cut it in this protectionist environment created due to job loss and economy. Just a humble suggestion. We have to be a part of solution to housing problem as well.

Even though right now FB2 is not far behind the gap will progressively increase due to post given below. Consider 2 glasses half full. If you pour 50% water from 1 glass to another 1 glass will be 75% full(EB) and other glass will be 25%full(FB).
Our intention is to findout if CIS interpretation is correct. If spouse can stay in the country with EAD and AP and if Primary gets GC first. It won't matter much becos, that EAD will not have any strings attached on same or similar etc. So we should be OK.
